For Absolutely No Reason, Here Are 10 Photos Of Ian Mackaye Sitting Down
Boy, for a guy who wrote a song called “Stand Up,” Ian Mackaye sure does like to sit on his ass. Come to think of it, has anyone ever seen Ian upright? He has never actually been photographed standing up. That’s a totally true fact as long as you do not Google it. You heard it here first: Ian Mackaye is a never-stander.

“Asked for his reaction, the real Ian MacKaye declined to comment, saying ‘I didn’t know a thing about this Twitter feed, which shouldn’t be much of a surprise since I don’t really pay any attention to Twitter and the like.’”
Minor Threat looking on in complete awe at Rodney Mullen, circa 1982.
If you also spent your teenage years with a skateboard permanently attached to your feet, the Bones Brigade documentary is streaming on Netflix and is worth a watch. Mullen is the clear highlight of it. Even if you grew up watching his skate videos, you really don’t get the full picture of what a COMPLETE FUCKING WEIRDO he is. Still one of the most innovative skaters ever though. He’s probably off somewhere right now, inventing a trick where he does a kickflip, all the wheels come off the trucks, and then magically screw themselves back on right before he lands.
Ian is probably thrilled that this is the first thing that comes up when you Google him.

See A Trailer For ‘Salad Days’, A Documentary About The DC Punk Scene
If you’ve got any familiarity at all with the DC punk scene, you should check out this trailer for SALAD DAYS: The Birth of Punk in the Nation’s Capital, which features interviews with Brian Baker, Dave Grohl, Fred Armisen, and others. There’s even a great clip of Ian MacKaye talking about emo.
